What to check first in Swansea
On Gower, assume the landscape comes first: talk to the council about siting and colour before committing to a design, and remember garden buildings are restricted there too. North of the M4, check the mining map before anything else, and look hard at the slope. Around the city, commercial units bring Building Regulations in full, which a farm building often avoids.
Planning in Swansea
The planning authority for Swansea is City and County of Swansea Council. There is no National Park in the area, so it handles every farm building's prior notification and every planning application.
